Fla. school adopts sports program for students with disabilities

Sawgrass Bay Elementary School in Clermont, Fla., recently held an obstacle-course event in which students with disabilities worked with peers without disabilities to navigate the course. The event was the culmination of the 20-week Young Athletes Program, which schools, parents and athletes can access for free through Special Olympics. "These are activities that parents and pre-schools don't normally think of doing for the children, but that they need for their development," reading teacher K. Eme said.
