Foursquare tests new ad tool for small businesses

Foursquare is testing a new feature that allows small businesses to promote their offerings instead of just giving discounts to customers who check in. Several small-business owners in New York City are testing the service, which could become more broadly available this summer. "It seems to be working pretty well," said Gerardo Perez, who has been using the platform to attract customers to his Cuban restaurant. "I believe it's giving us more exposure and visibility than before."
