Kan. airport begins $3 million ramp renovation

Great Bend Municipal Airport in Kansas is beginning a $3 million ramp renovation project to replace the airport's 70-year-old crumbling concrete. "The ramp has to be monitored on an almost daily basis for rocks from the deterioration of the ramp," said airport manager Martin Miller. "Normally, we pick them up by hand. We also utilize the sweepers from the street department but success is limited."
