More companies see individuals with autism as assets

Large companies, such as German technology company SAP and mortgage financier Freddie Mac, are doing more to recruit individuals with autism who often are known for being creative and detail-oriented. "We need to see neurological diversity in much the same way as we've seen workplace diversity efforts in the past on the basis of race, gender and sexual orientation," said Ari Ne'eman, president of the Washington, D.C.-based Autistic Self Advocacy Network and a member of the National Council on Disability. "We're now seeing a growing level of interest in this."
