Pilot plans to crisscross U.S.-Canadian border 90 times on birthday

Pilot John Lawton was planning to crisscross the U.S.-Canadian border 90 times to celebrate his 90th birthday this week. He was to begin his journey in his Cessna 172 in Buffalo, N.Y., where he had his closest call as a pilot, and fly a series of figure-8 patterns around Niagara Falls. "Somehow, I got a wild idea that I needed to do something different for my birthday," said Lawton.
