Questionnaire offers new way to monitor canine arthritis

Veterinarians at the University of Liverpool have created a questionnaire for owners of arthritic dogs to better characterize arthritic status. Owners rate their dog's stiffness, lameness, exercise levels and other parameters. The data are digitized for future comparison. "This record of behavior history, together with clinical assessment, could provide a more detailed understanding of how the disease is progressing, and importantly how healthy and comfortable the dog is," said veterinarian Ben Walton.
