Taiwan PMI eases but remains positive

Taiwan's progress toward economic recovery slowed last month as the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research purchasing managers index slipped to 55.3 from the 56.8 in April. However, all of the PMI's five subindexes -- for new orders, production, employment, inventories and supplier deliveries -- remained above the break-even mark of 50.
