Wall Street pours money into troubled housing markets

House prices are increasing as financial companies buy thousands of properties in markets hit hard by foreclosures. Los Angeles investment firm Colony Capital has bought 10,000 houses and is spending $250 million a month to build its portfolio. The Blackstone Group has acquired 26,000 homes in nine states.
