Bucket list lesson plan engages students in setting summer goals

A class of third-grade students recently was asked to create a bucket list of things they would like to do before the end of summer vacation. In this blog post, Genia Connell provides her step-by-step lesson plan, which includes brainstorming the ideas, decorating paper buckets on which to attach the list of their personal and academic goals for the summer. "The buckets and lists will be on display until the last week of school when we take them down, glue the list on the back, and bring them home to work on over the summer," she writes.
