Midwest Pain Consortium to study pain's causes, treatments

The University of Cincinnati, the University of Michigan and Eli Lilly and Co. are establishing the new Midwest Pain Consortium, which will do research into causes and treatments of pain. Lilly is contributing $400,000 to cover startup costs, and the first study will use neuroimaging to investigate chronic pain in osteoarthritis.
