Companies begin to focus on insulin pens

Insulin pens haven't been a huge success in the U.S., but manufacturers are hoping that more-attractive devices, better sales pitches and an offer of discounts will change that. Eli Lilly plans to launch three new pens this year, including a burgundy digital pen, and Sanofi-Aventis has created a disposable pen that it plans to market directly to consumers.
