Grocers work to ease consumers' budget concerns

Albertsons, Publix and Winn-Dixie are among the grocery chains working to help consumers deal with rising food bills. "Supermarkets are helping consumers manage their food budgets by offering multiple tiers of store-brand products and fresh, prepared foods as a convenient and less-costly alternative to restaurant food," said Tim Hammonds, president and CEO of the Food Marketing Institute.
