Homeowners must review their insurance, Va. officials say

Homeowners in Virginia should assess their insurance policies as the hurricane season officially began last week, according to the State Corporation Commission. Some insurers write policies with wind- or hurricane-loss deductibles, but carriers consider them optional. Motorists should also check if hurricane or wind damage is included in their auto coverage, the commission added.
