Pita Jungle aims to spread its healthy menu to new markets

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Pita Jungle began in 1994 as the brainchild of three Arizona State University graduate students who opted to start a healthy restaurant rather than pursue engineering careers. Today, the chain boasts 13 Arizona locations and is making its first out-of-state foray with one California store that opened in May and a second planned to debut later this year.
