Analysis: BIS blends ideas for bank-resolution framework

The Bank for International Settlements has a plan for large-bank resolution without creating panic or harming the public. The approach, presented in a paper by Paul Melaschenko and Noel Reynolds of the Basel Committee for Banking Supervision, melds methods favored by the U.S. and the U.K. with the bail-in model thought to be preferred by the European Commission.
