Calif. teachers learn to use farm-related science in the classroom

Fifteen K-12 teachers in California recently participated in the sixth annual Teacher Agricultural Science Technology Education Seminars, in which they visited agricultural sites to learn how to include farm-related science in classroom lessons. Stops included a dairy farm, a cheese plant and a feed mill, which teacher Carla Peterson said gave her ideas for math lessons, such as using fractions, decimals and rounding.
