Chemical producers waiting on Canada's B.C. province to prove LNG investments

The outcome of proposed liquefied natural gas investments in Canada's British Columbia province will dictate whether petrochemical firms turn to the neighboring province of Alberta for further investments, industry officials said. "Investments by upstream players in Canada's LNG sector will push the construction of crackers, but the dithering about LNG projects in British Columbia has to stop," said Steve Lewandowski, senior business director for global ethylene at IHS Chemical.
