At hearing, CTIA pushes for fewer restrictions at spectrum auction

CTIA: The Wireless Association® chief Steve Largent pushed for more relaxed rules for the government's upcoming auction on broadcast frequencies in order to free up wireless spectrum. At a Senate Communications Subcommittee hearing Tuesday, Largent and other industry executives debated the merits of the proposed rules as Republicans on the panel backed CTIA's stand against limiting the ability of AT&T and Verizon Wireless to bid on spectrum.
