Laser treatment zaps dentin hypersensitivity, meta-analysis finds

Treatment with diode lasers provided immediate relief of dentin hypersensitivity compared with gels containing stannous fluoride and potassium nitrate, a study published in General Dentistry found. Treatment with Er:YAG, Nd:YAG and GaA1As lasers reduced hypersensitivity, but Er,Cr:YSSG lasers worked no better than placebo, according to a meta-analysis scheduled for publication in the Journal of Dental Research.
