NS could help develop Pa. port's international status

An inland intermodal terminal in Bethlehem, Pa., could become an international freight-distribution hub. Rail tracks are already there, but Norfolk Southern currently doesn't stop at the port and domestic goods sit at the docks waiting for trucks. NS and others are in talks to change this and remove more trucks from the roads. "This will allow the companies already here to grow, while giving us another recruitment tool for import/export-type companies that may want to locate here," said Don Cunningham, Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp. president.
