Ontario introduces standards for student teachers

Beginning in 2015, Ontario, Canada, plans to introduce a curriculum for teacher trainees in which they will be required to complete training in working with students with disabilities and with students from diverse backgrounds, plus in educational technology. Reforms also include a requirement that student teachers spend 80 days in the classroom -- rather than 40.
