Prevalence of COPD rises among U.S. women


More than 7 million women in the U.S. have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and almost half of women with the disease are unaware they have it, the American Lung Association found in a new report. Women had a 37% greater likelihood of developing COPD than men, and women constitute a majority of COPD-related deaths.
