Private screeners on the way at Fla. airport?

Sarasota Bradenton International Airport in Florida is one step closer to letting contractors rather than Transportation Security Administration officers perform security screening. Next, the TSA will evaluate companies that wish to provide security services. "An airport only participates in the SPP [Screening Partnership Program] when a contract is awarded," a TSA spokesman said. "There will be no immediate change to operations or to the federal work force at the airport."
