A ranking of the country's best park systems

Minneapolis has the finest park system in the country, according to a ranking of park systems in the nation's largest cities by the nonprofit Trust for Public Land. The organization considered three factors -- park access, size and investment -- in preparing its rankings. "What's interesting is on our Top 10 list, a number are older cities where they thought ahead and set aside land to build parks," said Adrian Benepe, the organization's senior vice president and director of city park development.
