SEC permits temporary reinstatement of NYSE volatility measures

The Securities and Exchange Commission is allowing the New York Stock Exchange to restore safeguards against stock volatility. The program was phased out ahead of implementation of systemwide rules from the SEC, but it is temporarily being reinstated after several stocks experienced extreme volatility in recent weeks.
