UN Foundation mourns passing of Sen. Lautenberg, champion for women’s rights

The UN Foundation issued a statement Tuesday from Maureen Greenwood-Basken, executive director, Women, Girls and Population, on the life and work of Sen. Frank Lautenberg, who passed away Monday. "The loss of Sen. Lautenberg -- a champion for human rights and women's rights around the world -- is deeply felt today," Greenwood-Basken said. "His work to ensure U.S. funding for the United Nations Population Fund has led to improved health care for some of the world's most vulnerable populations." Read more.
