U.S. trade commission sides with Samsung in Apple patent dispute

A ruling by the U.S. International Trade Commission limiting Apple's ability to import some iPhones and iPads could have implications for the company's domestic device sales unless a federal court or the president intervenes. The ITC ruling, which bars importation of some earlier versions of Apple devices designed to work over AT&T's wireless network, stems from an ongoing patent dispute with Samsung. Apple says it will appeal the ruling, which could take effect in 60 days, but it insists any commercial fallout from the ruling will be negligible.
