Family conflicts occur when caring for dementia patient

Certified dementia consultant Carole Larkin says about 30% of her clients have family conflict problems, including disagreements about who is to care for a family member with dementia and who should pay for it. Tips from the Mayo Clinic on conflict resolution include sharing responsibility, having in-person meetings, getting help from a mediator, being honest without being critical, and getting family counseling or joining a support group.
