Reading Rainbow to develop a digital library through online fundraising

The Reading Rainbow television series aired on PBS from 1983 to 2009, promoting children's literacy with help from host LeVar Burton. Now, through an online Kickstarter campaign, Burton is raising money to expand a new Reading Rainbow mobile application -- RRKidz -- that will give classrooms free access to digital books and learning resources. "We're creating an unlimited library of books and video field trips for today's digitally connected kids," Burton said.
