Resurgence of H1N1 behind most flu-related hospitalizations this year

CDC officials said Thursday that 88% of 9,635 confirmed flu-related hospitalizations reported this season involved the H1N1 virus. This year, 57% of influenza cases involved 18- to 64-year-olds, and flu-related hospital admissions among 50- to 64-year-olds reached the highest rate seen in recent years. The findings were published in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.
