Insurers resist request for market data on effects of climate change

Insurers are resisting calls to add a series of interrogatories about global warming to their annual reports. The suggested interrogatories would refer to insurers' assessments of the impact of climate change, as well as asking for data on what underwriting actions carriers are taking, such as raising rates or canceling policies in regions affected by climate change.
