Deadline for Medicare physician-payment cut looms in Congress

Congress is fast approaching a July 1 deadline to decide whether to allow a scheduled 10.6% Medicare payment cut for physicians to go through, making it more likely doctors will end up with a retroactive fix if they get any remedy at all. Lawmakers are working on legislation to change what some consider a faulty reimbursement formula, but it appears they may not complete their work before the deadline.
