Md. district creates sports programs for students with special needs

One Maryland district is planning a new adaptive after-school sports program for students with special needs. Floor hockey will be available in spring 2011, with sports such as bowling and track to be offered in successive seasons. "In order for our children to be included, they have to be included in everything. This is a great way for them to be included and healthy," the chairwoman of one special-education parent group said.
