Report: Sick workers on the job throughout the food chain

More than half of all workers throughout the food chain, from produce pickers to restaurant servers, routinely report to work when they're sick and potentially put patrons at risk because they can't afford to take time off, according to a new report from the Food Chain Workers Alliance. About one-fifth of all foodborne illness outbreaks result from ill foodservice workers, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
