$3.4B Elgin-O’Hare Western Access project outside Chicago advances

The Illinois General Assembly has authorized the state Toll Highway Authority to proceed with plans for the $3.4 billion Elgin-O’Hare Western Access project northwest of Chicago. The project will turn the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway into a toll road and link Interstate 90 and Interstate 294. In addition, a new road will be constructed to bypass O'Hare International Airport.
