Add smoky flavor without the fire

Chef Tim Byres of SMOKE restaurant in Dallas says it's simple to add smoky flavor to food and beverages without starting a fire. To add a smoky zip to drinks, Byres uses a "sun tea" method by putting small maple or cedar wood planks in jars with bourbon or whiskey and letting it stew. Byres then adds the concoction to sweet cocktails like margaritas.
