Tutor Perini's $985 million bid for the first phase of California's $69 billion high-speed rail project received unanimous approval from the California High Speed Rail Authority. Parsons Corp. and Zachry Construction will join Tutor in the joint venture. Work involves construction of road beds, bridges and trenches along about the first 30 miles between Fresno to Bakersfield. The project is expected be finished by December 2017.
