Exec: SEC fiduciary rule, harmonization shouldn't be connected

Schwab Advisor Services is working to persuade the Securities and Exchange Commission not to link the harmonization of broker and adviser rules with its fiduciary rule, executive Bernie Clark says. Clark said he has spoken with members of Congress who think that registered investment advisers and broker-dealers have fundamental differences and that "harmonization and the fiduciary standard should be separate and distinct."
