Shares fell Thursday in Europe as the European Central Bank stood fast on rates and stimulus, sending the Stoxx Europe 600 1.16% lower to 291.69. In the U.S., trading was choppy ahead of a highly anticipated monthly jobs report that is due this morning. The S&P 500, however, ended the day 0.85% higher at 1,622.56.
