Lawmakers aim to block Abu Dhabi preclearance facility

A bipartisan group of lawmakers has drafted an amendment to block the Department of Homeland Security from establishing a customs preclearance facility in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The amendment to a bill that provides funding for DHS would "prohibit DHS from using any taxpayer dollars to conduct Customs and Border Protection (CBP) preclearance operations at the Abu Dhabi International Airport, where NO U.S. air carriers provide service."
