Mass. district goes to court to recover unpaid meal debt

A Massachusetts school district is seeking to recoup some of the $60,000 in unpaid meal debt it has on the books. Concerned about the effects that the debt -- $40,000 of which was accrued this year -- will have on the district's budget, officials have taken six families who each owe more than $250 to small-claims court to recover some funds.
