MEP Bowles calls EU's Libor-supervision plan "intrusive"

Sharon Bowles, who leads the European Parliament's economic and monetary affairs committee, said EU plans to shift supervision of the London Interbank Offered Rate and other benchmark rates to the European Securities and Markets Authority are "intrusive". "There is a lot of sensitivity about any kind of direct supervision," said Bowles, a British lawmaker.
