The growing popularity of ecolabels and green lists has created an impression that chemicals can be neatly categorized as either safe or unsafe, this article says. But safety "is relative, depending on the frequency, duration and magnitude of exposure," writes Jon Entine. The American Cleaning Institute's Paul DeLeo notes that getting "overly myopic on chemicals that are being used safety has the potential to be problematic."
