Report examines potential impact of climate change in N.J.

Beachfront communities in New Jersey could face future problems similar to the ones they experienced during Superstorm Sandy unless steps are taken to mitigate risk, according to a report from Rutgers University. "[W]hat is the Jersey Shore going to look like post-Sandy? It's going to be different," said Robin Leichenko, an economic geographer who led the project. Meanwhile, other geographers with the university have developed an online tool that can help users assess the potential impact of sea-level rise.
