Plastic surgeon uses multiple therapies to reverse effects of illegal injections

A transgender patient who sought cosmetic procedures from an unlicensed practitioner has written a book about the pain and disfigurement the illegal injections caused. She was injected with commercial-grade silicone mixed with mineral oil in her face, breasts and buttocks. Plastic surgeon John Martin is reversing some of the damage with laser therapy, ultrasound and steroid treatments, and says excision is not an option because the silicone infiltrated the patient's fat, muscle and connective tissues.
