Wis. hospitals make nutrition choices healthier, easier

Baldwin Area Medical Center is the first Wisconsin hospital to go public with a policy to promote health by phasing out beverages sweetened with sugar or artificial sweeteners. And Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, which offers a discounted price for a daily wellness meal, found that the program has resulted in people choosing that option almost twice as often as before the incentive, said registered dietitian Dave Challe, the food and nutrition services director.
