Matthew Bryant suffered a life-changing injury in a gunfight while serving with the British Royal Marines in Afghanistan. A bullet significantly immobilized his right arm when it severed an artery and three main nerves, leaving him feeling depressed and without hope. Wings for Warriors, a British nonprofit, helped him train to become a commercial helicopter pilot and he has found a job with a safari company in Africa. "To now be a fully qualified commercial helicopter pilot is amazing and humbling," Bryant said.
