Editorial: Supreme Court should consider "payoff" case

The U.S. Supreme Court should take up the Federal Trade Commission case against Schering-Plough involving "underhanded tactics" to block generic competitors, The New York Times said in an editorial. The FTC accused Schering of paying competitors to keep their generics off the market, allowing all the firms to make money while consumers continued to pay high prices, the paper said.
