Integrated IT system enhanced by collaboration

An IT program at a regional system of 21 hospitals, clinics, health plans and physicians has cut costs by $100 million a year while providing safer and more integrated patient care. The system contains a database used for medical histories, billing, regulatory compliance, best practices and reviews of care provided. To enhance the value of the system, all health care professionals as well as IT workers need to collaborate.
