Virginia educators offer portfolio option to more with disabilities

The number of Virginia students completing "portfolio tests" in response to testing requirements under No Child Left Behind doubled in the 2007-08 school year compared with the 2006-07 year. The portfolios include a year's worth of student work, and typically are used for students with serious disabilities. But Virginia has started accepting portfolios from students with learning disabilities and limited English proficiency.
